FAQ’s

Does Dirty Paws Lounge have a mission or goal?

Our goal at Dirty Paws Lounge is to provide a safe, fun, and stimulating social environment for dogs. We feel strongly that with daycare, boarding and other alternative services, busy pet owners can feel better about leaving their pets alone. This will enable more people to help adopt and save the lives of shelter dogs.

Does my dog need to meet any requirements?

Yes, for the safety and enjoyment of our canine guests, all dogs must be well-socialized, or in private training. Owners must also certify that their dogs have not harmed or shown any aggressive/threatening behavior toward people or other dogs in the past.

At what age can my puppy come to Dirty Paws Lounge?

Dogs must be 4 months or older to join play groups.  Accommodations can be made for younger pups, daily puppy fees will apply.  Please contact us for details. All dogs over the age of 9 months must be spayed or neutered.

What vaccinations are required?

We require proof of current rabies, DHPP (Distemper/Hepatitis/Parainfluenza/Parvovirus) and Bordetella (kennel cough) vaccinations. Bordetella must be done yearly.

Do Daycare Packages Expire?

Yes.  All of our daycare packages do expire.  5 day packages expire 5 weeks after purchase.  10 day packages expire 2 months after purchase.  20 day packages expire 3 months after purchase.  30 day packages expire 4 months after purchase.  Packages are non-refundable.

Can my dog wear his collar at Dirty Paws Lounge?

Yes, however, all dogs must wear “quick release” collars. Choke chains and prong collars are not acceptable.

What if my dog is not feeling well on his scheduled day of daycare?

Please DO NOT bring your dog to daycare if they are not well or ill.  All dogs must be clean and in good health.  Dogs must be free from any condition that could potentially jeopardize other guests; owners must certify that their pet has not been ill in the past 30 days.

Does Dirty Paws Lounge require the use of a flea and/or tick preventative?

Yes!  All dogs must be on a flea treatment program. Flea and tick collars are not acceptable. Proof of flea/tick and heart worm preventatives must be provided.

What paperwork is required prior to boarding or daycare services?

All dogs must first complete an evaluation.  All dogs that are boarding must come in for at least 1 day of daycare prior to their stay.  Dirty Paws Lounge dogs must also have a completed registration form on file, with medical, contact and behavioral information for each dog.t

Does Dirty Paws allow bully breeds for daycare or boarding?

We have limits on bully breeds.  Please contact us for more information.

What if I am late to pick up my dog?

Late pick-ups fees are charged as follows: $15 fee at 6:31pm and again at 6:46pm. If you have not picked up your dog by 7:00 pm Monday through Friday, your dog will be boarded overnight and you will be responsible for boarding costs as well as the $30 in late fees.

What if my dog becomes ill while at Dirty Paws Lounge?

If your dog becomes ill or has diarrhea, they will be ‘privated’ at a $5 daily fee for the health & safety of all. Dogs can share coughs, sniffles, eye infections and more just like children’s daycare. Dirty Paws Lounge will post any illnesses that exceed 1% of our population and is not responsible for vet bills of this nature. If your dog is ill, we will make accommodations to take him to a local vet or emergency center, if you are unable.

What if my dog is in a fight or becomes injured?

Owners are fully responsible for any aggression or injuries their pet instigates. Also, owners are responsible for vet bills if their pet injures another dog. (Note: dogs, although evaluated, can be unpredictable and all dogs will have random time-outs to allow for break time.)

Is payment collected before or after daycare/boarding?

Payment for services are due at the time of pickup or added fees will apply.

What payments are accepted?

Cash and major credit cards (Visa, Mastercard, Discover) are accepted at Dirty Paws Lounge.  We do not accept American Express or personal checks.  No refunds.
